The 18th International Fairs of Environmental Technology, Equipment and Services Pollutec 2002 in Lyon has aggregated this year 2338 exhibitors including 1/3 from outside of France. This year fairs was visited by 4,3% of professionals from all over the world, that is more than in previous year.

Poland was one of the candidate countries that committed itself to organize an international conference about possibilities of cooperation with Poland in the environmental field and to organize exhibition in the framework of
information stand of the Consulate of the Republic of Poland in Lyon.

The new legal acts about package wastes that are valid in Poland since the beginning of the year, have introduced used package administration system, that is in similar way as in EU countries based on the responsibility of businessmen (producers and importers of goods)

The Water Power Plants Slupsk Co. ltd. operates since July 1st 2000. The company owns 18 water power plants located on rivers of Pomorze region: River Słupia, Wieprza and Łupawa. The company was outsourced from the Electricity Distribution Company Slupsk Inc. The average annual power production in all water power plants equals 40 000 MWh.
Clean energy from the Gdansk Refinery

The preparation works have been started for construction of Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle (IGCC) that is to gasify heavy fractions of residues from crude oil processing. The investment is going to constrain radically environmental impact of the Gdansk Refinery, decreasing sulphur dioxide emission and eliminating completely heating oil with high sulphur content.

During Poleko’2002 Fairs the firm Slag Recykling was granted a reward for high quality metallurgical crushed stone aggregate destined for road and general construction, being produced from iron blast furnace and steelworks slag from the heap HTS incorporated.
